Facial contouring at EU: V-line, square jaw and the 45° cheekbone
EU's stated position is that it does not perform contouring that will not work. What matters more than how much bone is removed is where the osteotomy is placed, at what angle, and how firmly it is fixed — planned on 3D CT that shows bone thickness and nerve position.

3-area contouring (윤곽3종)
Cheekbone reduction, square jaw reduction and genioplasty in one operation, so the line from cheekbone to chin runs continuously — suited to a wide face with a blunt chin.
EU says its narrower resection range reduces bleeding, swelling and pain, and shortens recovery.
Reducing the 45° cheekbone
Asian faces often project most at the 45° cheekbone, so EU raises the osteotomy line (L-osteotomy) and uses dual fixation to limit cheek sagging and nonunion (불유합).
V-line, mini V-line and square jaw
V-line addresses both the angle below the ear and the chin, using a long-curved ostectomy plus a T-osteotomy that narrows the chin; mini V-line targets only a chin that is short, long or blunt.
For square jaw reduction EU may add cortical bone shaving and deep buccal fat removal to improve the frontal-view result.

3-area facial contouring (윤곽3종)
Cheekbone reduction, square jaw reduction and genioplasty in a single operation so the line from cheekbone to chin runs smoothly. EU emphasises a narrower resection range to reduce bleeding, swelling and pain.
Cheekbone reduction (광대축소술)
The most projecting part of the zygoma is reduced, with attention to the 45° cheekbone common in Asian faces. EU raises the L-shaped osteotomy line and fixes the bone at two points to limit cheek sagging and nonunion.
V-line surgery (브이라인수술)
The angle below the ear and a blunt chin are corrected together, with a long-curved ostectomy and a T-osteotomy that narrows the chin, for a slim and balanced jawline.
Mini V-line (미니브이라인)
Only the chin is treated — when it is short, long or blunt — with a patient-specific T-osteotomy that slims the chin and the adjacent jawline without operating on the angle.
Square jaw reduction (사각턱수술)
The angle below the ear is resected in one long, continuous curve along the lateral border. EU may add cortical bone shaving and deep buccal fat removal to strengthen the frontal-view result.
Frequently asked questions
- Does facial contouring require an overnight stay?
- EU answers that a single area — cheekbone, square jaw or chin — can go home the same day, while two or more areas such as V-line, or cheekbone plus V-line, need one night as an inpatient.
- When does contouring swelling subside?
- EU states swelling peaks in the first two to three days, eases after one week, largely settles within a month and mostly resolves by three months, with two weeks of laser care after surgery.
