VIEW's revision eyelid surgery is designed for patients unhappy with a previous double-eyelid result. It takes longer, around 1.5 hours, because existing scar tissue must be managed, and is best done 6 months to a year after the last surgery once tissue has settled.

Surgical steps

Consultation with a surgeon experienced in revisions to assess existing eyelid tissue and skin.
Under sleep sedation, the previous incision is reopened and scar tissue managed — about 1.5 hours.
The crease height and shape are re-set for symmetry and a more natural look.
The wound is closed carefully to minimise additional scarring.

Recovery & aftercare

Sutures are removed at 3 or 7 days depending on the technique used.
A follow-up visit at 7 days after surgery.
Swelling and bruising can be greater and last longer than first-time surgery because of existing scar tissue.
Avoid eye makeup and contact lenses until the wound has fully settled.
