Rhinoplasty

Nasal tip correction

VIEW's nasal tip correction refines the angle, shape and size of the tip without augmenting the whole bridge, typically using septal or ear cartilage as graft material. It takes about an hour under sleep sedation.

Who it suits

  • A blunt, wide or downward-pointing tip, without wanting to augment the bridge
  • Want the nasal tip refined to better suit facial proportion
  • Have enough septal cartilage available for use as graft material

Technique highlights

  • Balances the tip's angle, shape and size without touching the bridge
  • Uses septal or ear cartilage as the primary graft material
  • For revision cases or insufficient material, rib cartilage may be used
  • The incision sits inside the nostril, looking slightly red for the first month before fading over 2-3 months

Surgical steps

  • Consultation analysing nose structure and planning the desired tip shape.
  • Under sleep sedation, an incision is made inside the nostril — about 1 hour.
  • The tip cartilage framework is reshaped and reinforced with the prepared cartilage graft.
  • The internal nostril incision is closed, leaving no scar visible from outside.

Recovery & aftercare

  • Sutures are removed at about 7 days after surgery.
  • Makeup or cream on the nose area can resume only after suture removal.
  • Two follow-up visits are scheduled after surgery.
  • Redness at the incision fades within 2-3 months.

Risks & things to consider

  • Results depend on nasal skin thickness and available cartilage, so identical outcomes cannot be guaranteed.
  • If graft material is insufficient, rib cartilage may be needed, adding complexity to the surgery.
  • Risks include bleeding, infection or asymmetric tip shape after surgery.
  • Disclose any previous nose surgery before planning correction.

Frequently asked questions

Will this leave a visible scar?

The incision sits inside the nostril, a small and inconspicuous area; it may look red for about a month but fades to nearly invisible after 2-3 months.

Where does the cartilage graft come from?

Septal or ear cartilage is typically used; for revision cases or when material is insufficient, rib cartilage is used instead.

How long should I stay in Korea for follow-up?

There are 2 follow-up visits, and makeup or cream is only recommended after sutures are removed, so plan for at least 7-10 days.
